DESIDERA
The daughter of a Mage, born as something more Daemon than human due to a hasty and reckless contract made by her mother. Though her early life was spent fearing herself and what she could do, her time at Daybreak and the friends she's made have helped her to accept what she is, and she now makes the best she can of it.

AT A GLANCE
Desidera Neroni is a dark-skinned young woman that stands at 5 feet, 5 inches (165 cm). She is a little on the skinny side, but what she does have on her appears to be mostly muscle. Her eyes are red. Her hair is black, and often worn in messy twintails that can't be straightened up no matter how hard she tries. She has pointed ears, as well as a pair of horns that start from behind said ears and reach up past the top of her head. On the upper part of her right arm is a scar from an injury that sustained during a mission near the end of 2019; she could have had it fully-healed, but made a deliberate choice to keep the scar.She is generally (and very clearly) friendly and polite to others unless given reason not to be. She is also largely open to new experiences, although this is more or less a direct result of her having had a particularly sheltered upbringing prior to her enrollment at Daybreak Academy. She will keep any promises she makes for as long as circumstances permit her to, and she is willing to keep secrets as well.
However, she has some difficulty with initiating conversations, particularly if she is unfamiliar or uncomfortable with the other party. She is also occasionally concerned with how people see her, mostly due to the daemonic traits that she can't easily hide. She has noticeable difficulty in letting go of things if she is offended or otherwise wronged, and particularly serious offenses can lead to her wishing to retaliate.

CAPABILITIES
PHYS. STRENGTH Noticeably greater than should be possible for her size/build, but not to any truly ridiculous degree.PHYS. DURABILITY Able to withstand hard impacts, and can fall some distances without much harm if she can land on her feet.
AGILITY/DEXTERITY Desidera is generally average in this regard.
MAGIC STRENGTH Abnormally-high when compared to humans, for obvious reasons. Her creativity and quick thinking give her an extra edge.
MAGIC RESISTANCE Resistant to darkness and fire. Somewhat vulnerable to holy, light and, strangely enough, ice.
As a child of a Mage family, Desidera was initially taught to use the particular kind of magic that her family has so far been focusing on, which is largely offensive in nature but otherwise rather generic; fireballs, lightning bolts, and so on. She has a predisposition toward anything particularly destructive, with an apparent preference for anything that involves the element of fire or the manipulation of shadows (typically her own). Even outside of these preferences, any other magic Desidera wields is likely to be bolstered by daemonic power, with the likelihood being considerably higher for anything intended to actually do any damage, and it should be considered dangerous even if—and especially if—it is a kind that she has less experience with.
ADDITIONAL BITS / TRIVIA
• Desidera is an AU counterpart to Koria from one of Espilan's OUs. Her mother Marise is likewise a counterpart to Koria's mother Hazel.• Viola Tisawln, the daughter of Marise's cousin Miriana, is a counterpart to Jason Eirichu, the brother of Brooke, also from the aforementioned OU.
â—¦ Despite this, Viola has no connection to Rebecca Fulton, who can in some ways be seen as a counterpart to Brooke herself.
• Desidera is in a relationship with the Daybreak Academy AU version of Gunvolt.
• Desidera and Gunvolt are the acting guardians of Monarch (an AU version of Joule/Lumen with some shades of Lola), a magitech AI that rebelled against her creators. "Mona," as she is sometimes called, largely acts as something of a big sister to the duo, but there have been occasions where Desidera has taken the role of a big sister (or arguably even a mother) herself.
• Desidera has acted as a tutor for her fellow students (including Viola), for classes taught by the Daybreak Academy AU version of Valvatorez.
